◆ Full Color Layout Yardage Guide
The full color layouts are mapped by knowledgeable golf course mapping professionals, providing a full-color, graphical view of the entire hole and precise distance information from any point on the course. The revolutionary user interface actually shows YOUR position on the course in real time. As you move to the next stroke location, your position will show and the distances to each target will be updated in real time.

It is difficult to read the satellite imagery under sunshine. The special color layout hand-made have the golfers read easily.

◆ Aerial Imagery of Fairway and Green
You can switch the view to actual aerial imagery of fairway and green during play, with precise yardage information also visible on the aerial imagery.

◆ Touch Point Positioning on both Fairway and Green
Touch any point on the color layout / aerial imagery of the hole and immediately see the distance from you to that point, and the remaining yardage from that point to the green. You can also touch any point on the green and view the distance between you and that point.

◆ Shot Distance Measurement
The "Mark" function allows you to have a quick and precise shot distance for any shot. Simply press the Mark icon from your ball location, take the shot, then when you arrive at the landed ball will you see the distance of the shot. The Mark function can be used for the driver and for every other club as well. It really provides you with an excellent tool to know your distance for each club.

Update (July 23, 2011): Just checked this morning and found that all the courses I normally play are now come with the aerial views. With this feature, I am happy with the app. As such, Ive upgraded my menbership to "Advanced Membership". With the one time fee, I can now access all the courses world-wide. My initial comments: I used to own a stand alone Sonocaddie V300 and I liked it. I sold it because it didnt have the aerial views and it was not a touch screen unit. I was happy to receive an email informing me that the new iPhone app has both the colour layouts and the aerial vieews. However, I am very disappointed to find out that only a few Canadian courses are currently with aerial views. Also, when I tried a course (downloaded through the Lite membership), an "Upgrade" message kept popping up every third hole. Very annoying.

As advertised the app is easy to read in direct sunlight as are hole targets which are clear marked on the colour layouts. Mapping support is excellent with turnaround on new courses within 2-3 weeks as promised. My only concern is the inability to edit or add new targets to an existing course. As good as mapping can be it is still reliant on satellite imagery which can be hit or miss for accuracy which is the primary purpose of any golf GPS software. Hopefully this will be added to a software update in the near future. Otherwise I would have rated this app with 5 stars.

Moved from a golf guru to this app because I like using the layout views more than the aerial views. Accuracy is great. The views are very clear. Fast to load and fast to recalibrate when coming out of lock between shots. Hope they find it possible in the future to add toggling to the scoring. Using the keyboard to score a tad awkward when the hole is listed below the keyboard.

Some bad moments

this app seems to respond fast and be very easy to use. so far I havent had a chance to use it on the course but scrolling through the demo and downloading my home course I have a feeling its going to be great! I allready have a sonocaddie gps unit that I enjoy but this app looks like its much more interactive and even allows you to record your score along with others in your group!!!

Great great app.I used it today and it worked great.it was so simple to use my 7 year old niece was using it to keep our scores and give us distances to the green.I have used the sonocaddie v300,golfshot and the new callaway upro mx,this does everything you will need and simple to use.I love this app.you will not be disappointed.works perfect with my iPad 2.

I purchased the upgrade and it never downloaded, I still have the lite version and I do not know how to fix this???

What is not stated is that the subscription is limited to one device only. Very disappointing.

I purchased the in app membership plan upgrade and it has not come through yet, but my credit card has been charged! This was a couple of days ago, I have sent them emails asking for help, so far no help has come. I own a V300 and worked with them on adding some courses, they were very responsive so the lack of support is surprising.
